I feel like not that many people will be familiar with this version of Zelgadis, unless they have actively gone to the trouble of finding episodes online of Slayers Evolution-R. This costume is from episode 10, which is quite possibly the best episode of Slayers ever created. It's the first TRUE flashback of Zelgadis from before he was turned into a chimera. I use the term "true" because it is not a dream sequence or anything like that, but a memory of his time with Rezo and co. I won't give anything away, but seriously watch out for it, especially if you are a fan of Zelgadis, or Rezo, or both. I promise you won't be disappointed!
That said, I rarely post progress pictures for public viewing, but I'm rather proud of this one! I found the perfect light blue stretch knit to use for the main parts, and I got some textured black stretch PVC for the black lines on the shirt, matching gloves, and belt. By the time this is done, I'll probably also have his cloak and definitely his sword. I'm super excited to finally cosplay my absolute favorite Slayers character! (Bet you guys thought it was Amelia! Fooled you! Just kidding, they're tied.) |
